Depth Perception. On Every Level.
Xavier Giomi is a Production Engineer at Seatrec, where he brings hands-on expertise and a genuine passion for the tools that reveal the ocean’s hidden depths.
Before joining Seatrec, Xavier spent two years at Sea-Bird Scientific as a Float Technician, working with a wide variety of oceanographic sensors and deploying them across the globe. That fieldwork gave him a deep, practical understanding of what these instruments demand in real-world conditions.
His fascination with the ocean began at the University of Washington, where he earned a B.S. in Oceanography and first fell in love with oceanographic sensors and autonomous platforms. That curiosity never faded. Xavier is driven by a desire to push these technologies further, exploring how they can be refined, adapted, and tailored to meet the demands of scientific missions to better understand our blue planet.
When he’s not working on oceantech you can often find him behind the lens, capturing the world one frame at a time.
