The Full-Stack Guy
Josh Laney is a Firmware Engineer at Seatrec. A student of all things computers, Josh has held positions and done research in robotics, space communications, digital arithmetic, and electronic device fabrication. He views engineering as a complex layering of abstractions and makes it his mission to understand the problem at every layer. From the underlying physics to the complex goals of the overall system. This enables him to make informed decisions at the low-level to optimally impact the high-level.
In both his work and his life, Josh is constantly challenging the assumptions of his environment. This has led to a strong sense of exploration and love of travel. Before moving to SoCal, Josh has lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and the United Kingdom.
Josh holds an MSc. in Analogue and Digital Integrated Circuit Design from Imperial College London, and a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from the University of Virginia.
