Meet Miles Mallinger

Mechanical Engineer

The Mechatronics Guy

Miles Mallinger is a Mechanical Engineer at Seatrec. Miles grew up in Houston, TX, but has spent time living in Virginia, Louisiana, Florida, Maine, and Germany prior to moving to California.

Miles is constantly looking to learn and grow as an engineer.  This mentality has led him to work on various projects including naval vessels, a superyacht, an electrically-powered bicycle trailer, and a sustainable oyster farm.

Miles holds an M.S. in Mechatronic Engineering from the Hamburg University of Technology and a B.S. in Naval Architecture/ Marine Engineering from Virginia Tech.  With the combination of these degrees, he hopes to aid in the effort to better understand and positively impact the world’s oceans through marine robotic applications.
